films of the silent film era.Goudal was born on July , , the daughter
of Geertruida (née Warradijn; â€") and Wolf Mozes Goudeket (â€"), a
wealthy diamond cutter, in Amsterdam. Her parents were both Jewish,
and her father was Orthodox. She had an older sister, Bertha (â€") and
a younger brother, Willem, who died when he was months old in . Her
father remarried in to Rosette Citroen (â€"). Her father was murdered
at Sobibor extermination camp, age . Almost all of her Dutch-Jewish
relatives met the same fate. Only a daughter of her sister Bertha

acting career on stage, traveling across Europe with various theater
