Field Adrianus Cate (born July 22, 1997) is an American actor and
musician. He is best known his main role portraying young Ned in the
fantasy comedy-drama Pushing Daisies (2007â€"2009). He is currently
lead singer and guitarist of American rock trio Fencer.Field Cate was
born in Burlington, Vermont, into a lineage of entertainers. He is the
great-grandnephew of famous silent film star Esther Ralston, who has a
Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He is the great-grandson of Walt
Disney's thirteenth employee, Marjorie Ralston, who was an inker and
also the first female voice actor for Minnie Mouse, in the 1929 series
Wild Waves. )Cate was born and lived first in Vermont, then in
Georgia. From the age of three he started to perform in theater and
dance productions. His family returned to their hometown in Los
Angeles when he was four.
