Daniel O'Brien (born January 6, 1986), also known as "DOB", is an
American humorist, author, writer, comedian and songwriter; formerly
for Cracked.com. O'Brien currently works as a staff writer on the HBO
show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. In 2019 and 2020, he was part
of the writing team that won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Writing
on a Variety Series.Daniel grew up in Hazlet, New Jersey, where he
attended Raritan High School. He later attended Rutgers University in
New Jersey. His college job as a bartender was the inspiration for his
unpublished online novel, Bartender.In 2007, O'Brien started working
for Cracked.com as senior writer and editor. O'Brien has written over
200 articles for the site that have been seen more than 50 million
times.
