Victor Ivanovich Balashov (Russian: Ð'иктор Иванович
Ð'алашов; born December 24, 1924, Moscow) is a radio-host and
speaker for the USSR Union Radio (since 1944). From 1947 to 1996 he
worked for Soviet Central Television. In 1997 he was awarded the
People's Artist of Russia. Veteran of the Second World War, as a
