actress and film producer. She is known for her performances in Mike
Nichols' Heartburn () and Primary Colors (), as well as Woody Allen's
Crimes and Misdemeanors (), Alice (), and Deconstructing Harry (), and
Nora Ephron's Sleepless in Seattle (). She also appeared in Tim
Burton's Edward Scissorhands () and Stanley Tucci's Big Night (). More
recently, she appeared in Jump Street () and its sequel Jump Street
(). She is also known for her work on television including, Curb Your
Enthusiasm, Transparent, Madame Secretary, and The Good Fight and on
