Robert LuPone (born July , ) is an American actor and artistic

director. He works on stage, in film, and in television. He is the

brother of actress Patti LuPone.LuPone was born in Brooklyn, New York

City, the son of Angela Louise (née Patti), a school librarian, and

Orlando Joseph LuPone, an educational administrator. He trained as a

dancer and is a graduate of Juilliard School, having studied with

Antony Tudor, Jose Limon, and Martha Graham. He studied theatre at HB

Studio under Uta Hagen.LuPone's Broadway performances include A

Thousand Clowns (), True West (), A View from the Bridge (), Late Nite

Comic (), St. Joan (), and The Magic Show (). For his performance as

Zach in A Chorus Line (), he was nominated for the Tony Award for Best

Featured Actor in a Musical. As artistic director of MCC Theater in

New York City, he produced Frozen () and Reasons To Be Pretty (), both

of which were nominated for the Tony Award for Best Play.LuPone's many

off-Broadway performances include Twelfth Night (), Black Angel (),

and Lennon (). He also has appeared in regional theater.
