Khoa Do (Vietnamese: Ä á»— Khoa, listen), is a film director,
screenwriter, and philanthropist. He received the Young Australian of
the Year Award in 2005.The Do family left Vietnam in 1980 as
Vietnamese refugees, fleeing Saigon by boat. At the age of 18 months,
Khoa narrowly escaped death at the hands of Thai pirates. They arrived
in Sydney in August 1980.Khoa received a scholarship to attend St
Aloysius' College in Milson's Point, graduating in 1996. He studied
Law and Arts at the University of Sydney.
