Alfonso "Poncho" Herrera RodrÃguez (Spanish pronunciation: [alˈfonso
eˈreɾa]; born August 28, 1983) is a Mexican stage and screen actor
and former singer, who is best known for starring in Clase 406 (2002),
Rebelde (2004), RBD: La familia (2007), Mujeres Asesinas (2009)
Camaleones (2009), El Equipo (2011), Sense8 (2015â€"18), and El Dandy
(2015). Herrera starred in the Fox TV adaptation of The Exorcist
(2016-17).He gained international recognition as a member of the Latin
Grammy-nominated pop group RBD. He has since appeared in films
including Amarte Duele (2002), Venezzia (2009), Espectro (2013), La
Dictadura Perfecta (2014) and El Elegido (2016).Alfonso Herrera
RodrÃguez was born in Mexico City. He has an older brother, Alejandro
and a younger brother, Oscar. He attended the Edron Academy, a
prestigious high-class British school, alongside Gael GarcÃa Bernal
and Ximena Sariñana and graduated in 2002. Herrera originally wanted
to become a pilot and was going to move to San Antonio, Texas, to
enroll in an aviation school. He changed his mind and decided to
enroll at the Centro de Educación ArtÃstica run by Latin American
media giant Televisa.Following his completion at the Centro de
Educación ArtÃstica, Herrera began working professionally in
theater. He performed in Las Brujas de Salem (2001), Como matar a un
ruiseñor (2001) and Antigona (2001).
