stretching from the silent era to the 1950s.His first role was as
Maréchal Joffre in Sergei Eisenstein's first film Glumov's Diary.His
best-known role was as Grigory Vakulinchuk in Sergei Eisenstein's film
The Battleship Potemkin. He also had a part in another Eisenstein
film, Strike.
